Hometown 03:40
Take the next right ahead Ride it till the end of the road That’s where I once lived In that brick house beneath the willow This town had nothin’ cool The Empty parking lot where we hung out The freshly painted school Hell, it still looks just like a jailhouse I want to be honest, so I’m showing you The places I came from, the things I used to do In my hometown. I used to be found. That’s where I rode my bike Red, rusted huffy hand me down I pedaled all damn night My parents split. I had to get out. I want to be honest, show you the beginning Before I met you the way that I was living In my hometown. I used to be found. In my hometown I always felt stuck Really couldn’t get away fast enough Now that you’re here I’m seeing it again Feels little better than it did back then

How many moons Will you guide me along? How many dark years? How many light years? How beautiful The stars burn. Your head turns. Lost in the waves. We’ve been drifting So far away from the very beginning Baby, “How many moons?” Infinite moons, my love How many moons Will I lie to and drag you along? How many dark years? How many light years? How beautiful That watch that I gave you. Faded and gray We’ve been drifting So far away from the very beginning You ask, “How many moons?” Infinite moons, my love

about

“Hometown” is a rock-n-roll nod to the places we all grew up. One part love song for the suburbs with lyrics like “that’s where I once lived, that brick house beneath the weeping willow” and one part bittersweet goodbye to the days of youth.

Described as “Ryan Adams meets Pink Floyd”, Cutler’s music combines driving acoustic guitars and catchy piano hooks with edgy drum solos and electric guitar work. This record does just that.

Recorded in both Cutler’s original hometown (Tampa) and current hometown (Brooklyn), “Hometown” is a musical symbol if his past and present.
